Food Security: How the Local Food Movement can help

In the Greater Richmond area there are many neighborhoods in which fresh, nutritional food is not readily available. Without access to such things as fresh produce, whole areas of our community become food insecure. HandsOn Greater Richmond’s TeamWorks will explore this issue as well as its solutions in a group-oriented learning and service program.
In addition to regular discussions and learning opportunities, volunteers will take part in activities as, a guided bus tour of food insecure areas, a farm work day, education session about urban farming, and the creation of an edible landscape.

The Spring TeamWorks program will start in March and end in early June. There are 8 meetings on Tuesday evenings and Saturday morning within this time range.
